Because I NEED to learn. Not because I have free time on my hands, God knows, I can barely keep up with my sewing project list! But I love the softness of yarn. I love the way the yarn weaves together into an intricate pattern…sometimes obvious, and other times subtle…but either way, amazing, delicate, beautiful. I love scanning the pics all over flickr and crafty blogs…these girls rock. I am just so impressed by their skill. Here are some pics that I find inspirational. I have the knitting needles. I have a crochet hook. I have some yarn to practice with. Now I just need to learn what to do with it all!

Ok, first of all, I LOVE Jillian Michael’s dvds. I love her 30 Day Shred and today for the first time I tried her No More Trouble Zones. Its a new dvd and it does NOT dissapoint. I love Jillian’s no-nonsense, no frills, do-it-like-you-mean-it, attitude. This dvd is about an hour long and let me tell you I am HURTING tonight. All my trouble zones are feeling it! Jillian breaks it up into circuits. Five exercises per circuit and she repeats each circuit twice. The choreography is basic, you don’t need a dance background, lol. Also something very characteristic of Jillian’s dvds is that she likes to combine exercises…for example you’re doing squats while lifting weights…OUCH! but so effective. I am really looking forward to doing it again because I had to take a few little rests here and there to rest my muscles…which I know, I know, is when I really should be sticking it out and letting it hurt….but give me a few more runs and I’m sure I’ll be getting through it without breaks. If you want a tough, and effective workout, you have to check it out. Jillian means business. I also really want to check out her Banish Fat Boost Metabolism dvd, which I’m sure will be another great one. I own the 30 Day Shred dvd, but I tried out No More Trouble Zones on Exercise TV on demand. I love to try out dvds this way. Another GREAT place to check out exercise dvds is Collage Video. You can watch clips of the dvds and get tons of reviews. You can also make a wish list to save the dvds you’re interested in. Since I’m a mom without a lot of extra time, I like to workout at home rather than trekking it to the gym. I can fit it in whenever the mood or opportunity arises. Ben is still young enough at 11 months that I can work around him easily. He plays fabulously on his own and still naps. Jack on the other hand likes to play with mama and no longer naps. At 4 he wants a play mate. BUT, I think he is really getting used to mama’s exercise time. Sometimes he’ll even pull out my extra yoga mat and join me 🙂 He always tells me “This is hard work mom!” He likes to exercise. I am interested in getting a dvd that he and I can both exercise together. I know there are some out there, but I haven’t looked into it enough. Anyway, check these out if you like to workout from home!
