Love for sewing and books, originally uploaded by SewLaTea.

I’m obsessed with books. Ask anyone. When people ask why, I always tell them I just love to be surrounded by books. Some (like these) are inspiring, some are educational, some are thought-provoking and others are just for fun. I love the emotions that are stirred up inside me when I pick up a book. In the case of the books shown here, I might see a project that I really want to try or a new technique to learn. I love a good challenge and I love to be inspired, which is why I just can’t get enough crafty books. I also own “The Creative Family” by Amanda Blake Soule, aka SouleMama. This one should be stacked right in there. I love Amanda’s ideas 🙂 So what’s on the wish list you might ask? Here are some books of interest:
* D.I.Y.: Kids by Ellen Lupton (Author), Julia Lupton (Author
* Crafting With Kids: Creative Fun for Children Aged 3-10 by Catherine Woram (Author), Vanessa Davies (Photographer)
* Nature’s Art Box: From t-shirts to twig baskets, 65 cool projects for crafty kids to make with natural materials you can find anywhere by Laura C. Martin (Author), David Cain (Illustrator)
* Recycled Crafts Box by Laura C. Martin (Author)
* Green Crafts for Children: 35 Step-by-Step Projects Using Natural, Recycled, And Found Materials by Emma Hardy (Author)
* Material Obsession Two: Shared Inspiration by Kathy Doughty (Author), Sarah Fielke (Author)
* Handmade Home: Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures by Amanda Blake Soule (Author)
*Sublime Stitching: Hundreds of Hip Embroidery Patterns and How-To by Jenny Hart (Author), Alexandra Grablewski (Photographer)
*Sew Darn Cute: 30 Sweet & Simple Projects to Sew & Embellish (Paperback) by Jenny Ryan
and many more…
Are there any recommendations out there? Any books I just NEED to add to my collection?

My new little nook, originally uploaded by nikkifilo.

I have to add this pic as well. We have been doing a lot of little things here and there to make the house what we want it to be. Over the past two years a LOT of change has taken place. New windows, refinished hardwood floors, new carpets, new kitchen appliances, etc. But I must say, these little changes make me the most happy.

The beverage station 😉 , originally uploaded by nikkifilo.

I’m loving this new little piece of my world.  The wine rack was always there (or at times in other spots in the house), but just days ago we added my new Zojirushi hot water dispenser, and then we bought a new coffee maker with a thermal carafe.  Its wonderful!  I’m pretty much a dunkin donuts only kind of coffee drinker.  I’m so picky.  But this Cuisinart is really good, I must say.  I am fully enjoying having hot coffee and tea at my fingertips.  It feels so homey and cozy and wonderful 🙂  No more trecking out in the snow and rain and cold for my must have morning cup of coffee!!  Now that feels better 🙂
